A Day of Commemoration and Fellowship: The Annual Picnic of the GEB Family
One of the most anticipated events, the annual picnic of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology was held on January 31st followed by the Fresher's Reception and graduation ceremony-2023. This year, this picnic took place at the picturesque Turag Waterfront Resort, surrounded by the charming natural beauty of the Turag River.
The event was attended by the chairman of the department, professor Dr. Abu Ashfaqur Sajib, Senior teacher Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Azim Akhand, and Senior teacher Professor Dr. Mohammed Nazmul Ahsan, as well as other teachers, students from different batches and staffs of the department. The event initiated with the welcoming ceremony of 23rd batch alongside the farewell programme of the 19th batch of GEB department. The most exciting part of the picnic, the game segment began shortly after this where a game called 'DNA Race' was arranged specifically for the fresher’s followed by several other amusing games. Afternoon activities included games for teachers and a colourful cultural segment. Dance, poetry, songs performed by both teachers and students added much to the joyous and festive environment. The most mesmerizing and memorable segment of the day included the pandora's box opening and raffle draws with which it was called a day.
The entire day was filled with happiness and much pleasure. Everyone’s cordial cooperation and collective effort, espeically by the students of GEB batch 21, made this event much entertaining, joyful and a great success.
