The Centre for Genocide Studies (CGS) is a leading centre of teaching, research, and policy advocacy. It is rightly located at the University of Dhaka, which was the epicentre of genocide in 1971. The University lost many of its eminent teachers, academicians, students, employees, and family members during the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh. After 41 years of the massacre, the University of Dhaka established the Centre for Genocide Studies (CGS) on 25 March 2012.
