Call for Submission of Proposal for Research Project and Allocation of Research Grants (2024-2025)
Applications are invited, in the prescribed pro-forma, from the faculty members of the Faculty of Science, University of Dhaka (D.U.) for carrying out new research projects with financial support from the Bose Centre for Advanced Study and Research in Natural Sciences. Projects may be submitted jointly. For joint project supervisors, one supervisor must be from the Faculty of Science and another may be from the Faculty of Biological Science or the Faculty of Pharmacy or the Faculty of Engineering and Technology or the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The project supervisor(s) must appoint a research fellow who should have a B.S./B.Sc. or M.S./M.Sc. degree from D.U. or current M.S. student of D.U. having minimum CGPA 3.00/no third division/third class at the undergraduate or/and graduate level(s). The total budget of each project will be limited to a maximum of BDT 171000/- (12×13000+15000) for General fellow, BDT 183000/- (12×14000+15000) for M. Phil fellow, and BDT 255000/- (12×20000+15000) for Ph.D. fellow. This will cover research fellowship grants as well as other charges such as chemicals, apparatus, incidental expenses. The procurement should follow PPA/PPR guidelines and applicable for VAT/IT must be paid by the project supervisor within the allocated budget. The research fellowship is full time and the grant for a research fellowship is normally for July 2024 to June 2025. Interdisciplinary projects are also welcomed. After the approval of the project following conditions should be fulfilled:
(1) An article on the project work should be published in any journal (Preferably Indexed Journal) having DOI.
(2) The project work should be presented in a research fair organized by the centre/faculty of science.
(3) It is also expected that the work should be presented in any conference of a society.
Project’s proposal(s) should be submitted by 30/04/2024 to the office of the Bose Centre for Advanced Study and Research in Natural Sciences. A soft copy should also be sent to the director (bose_centre@du.ac.bd) by the deadline. Awards are expected to be made accordingly to the availability of funds. The project may be renewed based on the availability of funds in the following financial year.
