Vol No 33 & 34 (Special issue)
Celebrating 50 years of the Institute of Modern Languages
IML has taken initiative to publish a Special Issue of IML journal (Issue 33 & 34) to commemorate the institute's 50 years. The main theme of the Special Issue is Multilingualism for Sustainable Development. This will include issues related to Sustainability of Modern language education in Bangladesh based on research about policies and practices of foreign language education, teaching approaches and the techniques employed in enhancing the quality of Modern Language Teaching and Learning in Bangladesh. We strongly believe that a number of well-researched articles highlighting relevant topics concerning modern language teaching and learning in Bangladesh as well as across the globe will be included in the special edition.
The possible topics for these issues may address one or more of the following themes, but are by no means limited to only these:
- The development of Modern/ Foreign Language teaching
- Teaching of Modern Foreign Languages in language institutes/academies
- Learner individual differences in Modern language learning
- Inclusive Education , equality and Modern foreign language curriculum
- Prospects of Modern Language Education in Bangladesh and round the globe.
- Attitudes and Beliefs towards Foreign Language Education in Bangladesh
- Foreign Language in Bangladesh: Socio-Cultural Perspectives
- Challenges of Learning a Foreign Language in Bangladesh
- Use of Technology in Foreign Language Education
- Cross-Cultural Issues in Foreign Language Education
- Linking Foreign Language Education to SDGs
- Bi/multilingualism in foreign language classrooms
Guidelines for authors and deadlines:
- IML is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. The Journal has ISSN Number and is DOI complaint effective from 2021(Volume 33).
- The deadline for submission of abstract is 15thApril 2024.
- The complete manuscript submission is 31st May 2024.
- Words limit for articles is 5000 to 8000 words including an abstract (250 words), keywords, references, and appendices.
- APA Style 7th Edition should be followed for all articles.
- The author’s details including designation, affiliation, contact address and contact number should be on a separate page.
- Manuscripts submitted elsewhere for consideration must not be simultaneously submitted to the journal.
- Authors will be responsible for plagiarism. Any plagiarized manuscript may result in barring the author from future submission to the journal.
- As this would be a Multilingual Journal, in addition to Bengali and English, articles in other widely used languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Russian etc. will also be accepted for this issue.
