Orientation Program of the BBA 28th Batch held in the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka
The orientation program of the BBA 28th batch of the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka was held on September 20, 2022, Tuesday to welcome the freshers wholeheartedly. The founding chairman of the department - Professor Dr. A. H. M. Habibur Rahman graced the program as the chief guest. The current chairman of the department - Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury chaired the session. The BBA program director and Associate Professor - Shabnaz Amin was also present at the event. Distinguished faculties attended the event. The event was jointly hosted by Md. Minhazul Hoque Apon, Sirajum Munira, Muhd. Nazmus Saquib and Zannatul Ferdous who are sophomores from BBA 27th Batch of Department of Finance.
The welcoming session of the program started with a mesmerizing recitation of the verses of the Holy Quran by Md. Muslimur Rahman, a sophomore in the department. Following the recitation, a glimpse of the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS) and the Department of Finance was shown through an alluring video to the freshers to let them know what to expect from their upcoming BBA journey. Then, the guests were presented with flower bouquets on stage.
The formal part of the event began with the welcoming words from Shabnaz Amin. She wished the students luck and inspired them for the upcoming thrilling years. Then, two of the freshers - Aparajita Hasan and Farhan Labib were called on stage to share their feelings after getting admission offer with the guests. Aparajita mentioned how hard she worked to become a part of this family. Her emotions were conveyed through her voice. Labib expressed his overwhelming experience of being a student at the University of Dhaka and asserted the campus’s attractive beauty. All the freshers were thrilled at hearing their expressions.
Afterwards, the chief guest of the program, the founder chairman and former Professor Dr. A. H. M. Habibur Rahman came with his speech. He shared the history of the establishment of Faculty of Business Studies and the Department of Finance. The creation and the later historic journey of this department were intensely vocalized in his speech. The story was quite interesting and had some serious learnings along with it. The whole audience was thrilled to get to know the background of this department. Mr. Rahman also shared some experiences from his life which encouraged students to recognize the fact that problem is the mother of invention. He concluded his valuable speech with some great guidance toward the freshers.
The honorable chairman of the department, Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in his speech articulated the significance of maintaining a good result and good accompany in the university life. On top of that, he elucidated the impressive environment of the department and then he introduced the amazing set of faculties to the students.
In second session of the program, Muhammad Saifuddin Khan, Nusrat Khan and Md. Mukhlesur Rahman, Associate Professors and Student Advisors - of the department, explained the rules and regulations to the freshers.
The program came to an end with the concluding lines from the hosts with the hope that the fresher will have a great experience in this 4-year journey and millions of stories will be written by them on this very premises of FBS.
