EMBA 2nd Batch Orientation Program Takes Place at Department of Finance
The orientation program of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) 2nd batch at Department of Finance, University of Dhaka was held on February 11, 2023. The event took place at the Professor Dr. Abdullah Farouk Multipurpose Hall of Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka and was attended by the newly enrolled students, faculty members, guests, staff members, and student volunteers. This event marked the official beginning of the students' academic journey at the university and served as an opportunity for them to familiarize themselves with the curriculum, facilities, and resources available to them. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as the students embarked on this new chapter in their education and careers.
Before the program began, the students were greeted with roses and welcome gifts at the entrance. The event was moderated by Ms. Pallabi Siddiqua, Associate Professor at Department of Finance, who asked the students to take their seats and commenced the orientation program.
The program started with the opening speech by the Dean of Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen. In his speech, he welcomed the students to the university and emphasized the importance of the EMBA program in today's rapidly changing business landscape. He also spoke about the EMBA curriculum and the opportunities for the students to gain relevant knowledge through the courses offered.
The moderator thanked Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen for his thoughtful words, which was followed by the student volunteers greeting the guests of the event with flower bouquets.
Then, two representatives of the newly enrolled EMBA students delivered their speeches where they talked about their sense of accomplishment to be selected for the prestigious program as well as their excitement for the journey ahead.
This was followed by a speech from Dr. Sheikh Tanzila Deepty, Associate Professor at Department of Finance, who informed the students about the curriculum in detail and talked about the relevant aspects and academic requirements of the program. Then, a welcome video was played for the students where they got to see the various facilities and resources that they will be able to access at the faculty and the department.
Then, the moderator invited Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Chairman of Department of Finance to say a few words to the students. He spoke about the challenges and opportunities facing the business world today and the importance of continuous learning and development in adapting to these changes. He also introduced the students to all the faculty members and staff members of the department.
After this, the closing speech was delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Kismatul Ahsan, Director of the EMBA Program at Department of Finance, University of Dhaka. He wholeheartedly welcomed the students to the department and spoke about the journey they are about to embark on. He also shared his personal experiences and insights on the value of academic degrees in advancing one's career.
Finally, the moderator of the event concluded the event and invited the students to join the dinner arrangements organized for them.
