Multidisciplinary research project "Art, Nature & Health"
অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সাথে জানানো যাচ্ছে যে আমাদের বিভাগের সম্মানিত চেয়ারম্যান কিউরেটর শিল্পী ড. শেখ মনির উদ্দিন সফলভাবে "শিল্প, প্রকৃতি ও স্বাস্থ্য" (Art, Nature & Health- ANH) শীর্ষক একটি বহুমাত্রিক গবেষণা প্রকল্পের উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন। গত ২৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের চারুকলা অনুষদের ওসমান জামাল মিলনায়তনে এই প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, যেখানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন প্রখ্যাত শিল্পী অধ্যাপক ড. আবদুস সাত্তার। উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের পর দুটি গবেষণা সিনোপসিস উপস্থাপন করা হয়, যার শিরোনাম ছিল "শিল্প, প্রকৃতি ও স্বাস্থ্য : আন্তঃসম্পর্ক ও প্রভাব" (Art, Nature & Health: Interrelation and Impact) এবং "ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের চারুকলা অনুষদের শিক্ষার্থীদের চক্ষু ও মানসিক স্বাস্থ্যের অবস্থা নিরূপণ" (Visual and Mental Health Status among Students of Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka)। পরবর্তী দিন, ২৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি, প্রকৃতির সাথে মানব দেহ ও মনের সংযোগের বিষয় তুলে ধরে একটি আর্ট পারফরম্যান্স অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, যেখানে অনুষদের শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী এবং বিশিষ্ট সমকালীন শিল্পীরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। আর্ট পারফরম্যান্সের পর চারুকলা অনুষদের জয়নুল গ্যালারি ২-তে চোখ ও মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষার জন্য একটি মেডিকেল ক্যাম্পের আয়োজন করা হয়; এতে প্রখ্যাত চক্ষু বিশেষজ্ঞ এবং মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য বিশেষজ্ঞরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। একই সময়ে জয়নুল গ্যালারি ১-তে একটি আর্ট ক্যাম্পের আয়োজন করা হয়, যেখানে শিল্পীরা প্রকল্পের বিষয়বস্তুকে কেন্দ্র করে চিত্রাঙ্কন করেন। ডাক্তাররা সেখানে তাদের কাজের পরিবেশ পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন এবং ক্ষতিকর শিল্প সামগ্রী ব্যবহারে স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির জন্য কিছু মূল্যবান পরামর্শ দেন। এই আর্ট ও মেডিকেল ক্যাম্পের মাধ্যমে ড. শেখ মনির উদ্দিনের নেতৃত্বে গবেষকরা তাদের গবেষণা প্রকল্পের জন্য মূল্যবান তথ্য সংগ্রহ করেন।
"শিল্প, প্রকৃতি ও স্বাস্থ্য"-এর মতো বহুমাত্রিক গবেষণা অত্যন্ত সময়োপযোগী একটি প্রকল্প। আমরা সত্যিই গর্বিত যে আমাদের শিল্পকলার ইতিহাস পরিবারের প্রিয় সদস্য ড. শেখ মনির উদ্দিন এমন একটি উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেছেন। আমরা আমাদের প্রিয় মেন্টরকে এই সময়োপযোগী ও মহৎ উদ্যোগের জন্য আন্তরিকভাবে অভিনন্দন জানাই এবং প্রকল্পের উত্তরোত্তর সাফল্য কামনা করি।
It’s a matter of real delight that Curator Artist Dr. Shake Manir Uddin, our honorable chair of the department, have successfully initiated a multidisciplinary research project "Art, Nature & Health" (ANH). last 25th of February the inauguration ceremony of the project had been held at the Osman Jamal Auditorium, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka chaired by renowned Artist Prof. Dr. Abdus Satter. After the inaugural ceremony two research synopsis entitled "Art, Nature & Health: Interrelation and Impact" and "Visual and Mental Health Status among Students of Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka" were presented. The next day, 26 February, an art performance emphasizing the connection of nature to the human body and mind had performed with the collaboration of students & teachers of the faculty and prominent contemporary artists. Following the art performance, there was a medical camp for eye and mental health check-up arranged in the Zainul Gallery 2, Faculty of Fine Art; renowned eye specialists and mental health specialists have participated in this camp. Simultaneously there was an art camp arranged in the Zainul Gallery 1, where artists had painted focusing the theme of the project. The doctor's observed there working environment and then gave them some valuable advice for increasing health awareness in using hazardous art materials. Through this Art and Medical camp the researchers lead by Dr. Shake Manir Uddin collected valuable data for their research project.
A multidisciplinary approach like the "Art, Nature & Health" is what we need in current era. And we are really proud that such initiative have been taken by our beloved and honoured Department of History of Art family member Dr. Shake Manir Uddin. We cordially congratulate our beloved mentor for this timely and great initiative, and we wish for the success of this project in future.
