The Department of Public Administration is one of the leading Departments in the University with remarkable academic and research experiences. Established on 1st July 1972, the Department has started its three year BSS (Hons.) Program from academic session 1971-1972. Before that one year MSS Program in Public Administration was initiated in academic session 1969-1970 and 1970-1971 under the Department of Political Science of Dhaka University.
