Drawing and Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Art was established in 1948, named Fine Art Department since 1963. Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin and Mr. Anwarul Huq were the pioneer teachers of this Faculty. Mr. Mohammad Kibria, Mr. Aminul Islam, Mr. Abdur Razzaque, Mr. Rashid Chowdhury, Mr. Kazi Abdul Baset, Mr. Mustafa Monwar, Mr. Rafiqun Nabi, Mr. Hashem Khan, Mr. Delwar Hossain, Mr. Monirul Islam, Mr. Mahbubul Amin, Mr. Shahid Kabir, Mr. Kazi Giyas, Mr. Mahmudul Haque joined as teachers later on.
