Country Director of British Council Mr. Stephen Forbes called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan today July 29, 2025 at the latter’s office of the university.

During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic programs between Dhaka University and British Council through dialogue and strategic planning. They also discussed about arranging a special event to enhance relationship between the two institutions.

British Council Country Director formally invited DU VC to attend the global higher education conference on ‘Going Global 2025’. This conference will be held from 28 October to 30 October in London.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan thanked the guest for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities. He stressed the need for undertaking more collaborative activities in the fields of research and innovation to enhance the quality of higher education in Bangladesh.

British Council Country Director Mr. Stephen Forbes provided a detailed update on the organization’s current priorities, operational ambitions and challenges in Bangladesh. He sought cooperation from DU VC for strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two institutions.
