Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Hall, University of Dhaka was named after noble and eminent woman Begum Fazilatunnessa Mujib. The foundation of the Hall was laid on 18 September 1999 and was inaugurated on 7 May 2001 by the honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. Professor Dr. Nasreen Ahmad was the first Provost of the Hall.
The students of the Hall have become champion and runner-up in both indoor and outdoor sports in inter-hall and inter-university sports competitions. Students have also proved their ingenuity in cultural competitions.
To ensure the congenial atmosphere of free-thinking, Hall has Debating Club. Hall unit of Badhan arranges free blood donation and blood group testing. Ranger unit of the Hall volunteers on different national and university days and participates in different skill programs.
Apart from the library and three reading rooms, there is large auditorium for several programs, a spacious prayer room and cultural room for students interested in cultural activities and a playground for students.
English and Bangla newspaper at newspaper reading section, high speed internet and mobile recharge facility, laundry, photocopier and stationary shop facilities are available at Hall. Hall Union have been also participating sincerely since March 2019.
