This is an integrated general and professional education programme. The major objectives of the programme are to:

develop competent education professionals who have in-depth knowledge, relevant skills and values with the necessary ethical and cultural orientation and can face national and global challenges emerging from social, political, economic, technological, cultural and other perspectives of the 21st century. |
5.2 |
produce graduates with sound pedagogical and content knowledge of the subjects from selected streams (Language, Social Sciences, Science, Special Education, Primary Education and proposed Business Education). |
5.3 |
produce graduates having practical experiences of performing professional responsibilities in actual situations through attachment program in educational institutions; |
5.4 |
develop strong foundation required for further professional study in Education leading to specialization in specific areas of Education |
5.5 |
develop intellectual, analytical, communication, decision making, ICT, interpersonal & teamwork, personal and professional skills aligned with 21st century skills and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) |
5.6 |
facilitate students in acquiring a range of transferable skills that will be of value in employment and self-employment. |
6.1 |
Each academic year is divided into two semesters. During a semester each course will meet for 3 hours a week. The contact hours for each course is forty in a semester. Additional classes or sessions in the form of discussion sessions, seminars, workshop, practical and field work etc. may be scheduled by the respective course instructors. |
6.2 |
The number of courses to be taken by a regular student during a semester is 5 (five) or 6 (six) equivalent to 22 or 24 credit hours. The student will also complete a Practicum course equivalent to 20 credit hours and Simulation/Micro Teaching course equivalent to 4 credit hours. |
