The Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka, successfully conducted its sixth on-campus training program titled “R for Applied Statistics and Data Science”, which ran from June 19 to July 3, 2025. The program attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, including academia, research, and industry.
The 11-session program provided hands-on training in R programming, data manipulation, statistical modeling, and data visualization. Participants engaged in practical problem-solving exercises using real-world datasets, enhancing both theoretical knowledge and applied skills. Interactive sessions and group activities fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing among attendees.
At the closing ceremony, ISRT’s Director, Professor Dr. Tamanna Howlader, awarded certificates to participants, commended their dedication, and emphasized the importance of mastering modern data science tools. Program coordinators, including Dr. Mohaimen Mansur, praised the participants’ enthusiasm and the program’s success in equipping them with valuable R programming and statistical analysis skills.
The program reinforced ISRT’s commitment to advancing statistical education and data science expertise in Bangladesh, continuing its legacy of producing skilled professionals and researchers in applied statistics.
