First Ph.D. Degree Conferred in Nuclear Engineering Department
On 1 February 2026, the Dhaka University Syndicate awarded a Ph.D. degree to Shafiqul Islam Faisal, the first Ph.D. graduate of the Department of Nuclear Engineering, University of Dhaka. His thesis, titled “Assessment of Radiological Doses and Emergency Planning Zones of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant,” was completed under the supervision of Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam.
