The Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (DECP) at the University of Dhaka is set to host the 5th batch of its Foundation Course on Therapeutic Play (FCTP) this May. Designed for mental health practitioners, educators, and professionals working with children, this intensive training program will equip participants with evidence-based strategies to harness the healing power of play in therapeutic settings.
Course Details
Scheduled across five Fridays (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th May 2025), the course will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the DECP Training Room. With a focus on practical and theoretical knowledge, attendees will explore diverse modules such as Sensory & Embodiment Play, Art in Therapy, Sand Play Therapy, Therapeutic Storytelling, and strategies to address attachment, trauma, and loss in children.
Expert-Led Training
The course will be facilitated by Mostak Imran, a BAPT-approved International Professional Play Therapist (Registration No: 1386) accredited by the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT). His expertise will guide participants in creating safe, creative environments to foster resilience and emotional well-being in young clients.
