Replanting of Amar Ekushey Hall's Iconic Neem Tree
On the auspicious day of the inauguration of Amar Ekushey Hall on May 7, 2001, the sapling of the Neem tree, planted by the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, fell victim to the impact of the devastating cyclone Sitraam on October 24, 2022. Following the creation of a new sapling from this rare species, on May 23, 2023, the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, replanted the tree at the same location. We extend heartfelt thanks to all involved for their collaboration and support.
