On 12 April 2026, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka (CSEDU), warmly welcomed its newest students through the Freshers’ Orientation Program for Undergraduate Batch 32, Session 2025–26. Held at the department auditorium, the event was thoughtfully arranged to introduce the students to the academic environment, culture, and opportunities within the department, while fostering a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning of their journey.
The program commenced at 10:00 AM with the guests taking their seats, followed by a floral reception that set a cordial and respectful tone for the occasion. Shortly afterward, recitations from the Holy Quran and the Holy Geeta created a serene and reflective atmosphere, marking a meaningful beginning to the event.


The formal proceedings began with a welcome speech by the respected Student Advisor, Dr. Mosarrat Jahan, who warmly greeted the freshers and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. An engaging slideshow presentation highlighting the activities and achievements of CSEDU offered the newcomers a glimpse into the vibrant extracurricular culture of the department. This was complemented by a comprehensive overview of the curriculum presented by Lecturer Mr. Aminul Kader Bulbul, which helped students better understand the academic structure and expectations of their program.

Adding a personal touch to the event, one of the freshers delivered a speech on behalf of the new batch, expressing their enthusiasm, hopes, and aspirations. The program was further enriched by a speech from special guest Mr. Kazi Safaet Mahmud Auvi, Co-Founder and CEO of Nymph Solutions Ltd., who shared his professional experiences and offered valuable advice on career development and innovation in the field of computer science.



Another highlight of the event was the inspiring speech by special guest Mr. Md. Kyser Hamid, Managing Director and CEO of Bangladesh Finance PLC. Following his address, he presented haversack bags to the students as a token of goodwill, a gesture that was sincerely appreciated and added a gracious touch to the occasion.
The session continued with a speech by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Upama Kabir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FoET), University of Dhaka. Her speech provided profound insights into the broader vision of engineering education and encouraged students to strive for excellence and integrity.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, who expressed gratitude to all guests, organizers, and participants for making the event successful.



The formal segment ended with a refreshment announcement, allowing attendees to interact informally and build connections.
