3 DU students get Prof. Habiba Khatun Scholarship
Three meritorious students of the Department of Islamic History & Culture of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Prof. Dr. Habiba Khatun Scholarship” for their outstanding academic results in BA Honors Examinations. The recipients of scholarships are Khan Mahbub Morshed, Md. Sanaullah and Shathi Khatun. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function held today, March 23, 2017 at the VC’s lounge of the university.
Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Abu Md. Delwar Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Islamic History & Culture Prof. Md. Mahfuzul Islam, donor of the trust fund Prof. Dr. Habiba Khatun and some other faculties were present on this occasion.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique congratulated the awardees. He urged the students to play en effective role to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
It may be mentioned that Dr. Habiba Khatun is a retired Professor of DU Islamic History & Culture Department.
