President of American Statistical Association (ASA) Prof. Jessica Utts called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today December 29, 2015 at the latter’s office of the university.
Professor of the Department of Statistics, Biostatistics & Informatics of DU Md. Lutfor Rahman, Prof. M Ataharul Islam, Prof. Syed Shahadat Hossain and Associate Prof. Md. Golam Rabbani were present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed regarding the development and expansion of statistical education at Dhaka University as well as in Bangladesh. The possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on statistics between Dhaka University and higher educational institutions in USA were also discussed the meeting.

It may be mentioned that Prof. Jessica Utts is now on a visit to Bangladesh to attend the three-day International Conference on Theory and Application of Statistics organized by the Dhaka University Statistics Department Alumni Association (DUSDAA) held recently at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban  auditorium of the university.
