Dhaka University (DU) authorities have received taka 5 lac donation further to enhance the capital of “Educational & Counseling Psychology Department Gold Medal” at the university. Dr. Zahirunnesa Sayeed, founder Member of the Department of Educational & Counseling Psychology of DU has donated money to enhance the capital. Dr. Md. Atiqul Sarwar, nephew of Zahirunnesa Sayeed handed over a cheque for Tk. 5 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin today October 31, 2016 at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.

Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. M. Imdadul Hoque, Chairperson of the Department of Educational & Counseling Psychology Prof. Dr. Mehtab Khanam, founder Chairperson Prof. Dr. Shaheen Islam, Prof. Dr. Shamim Firdaus Karim, Acting Registrar of DU and some other faculties were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in Masters final examination from the Department of Educational & Counseling Psychology of DU will be awarded gold medal. Naming this trust fund after “Dr. Zahirunnesa Sayeed Gold Medal” was proposed in the meeting.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arefin Siddique thanked the donor for her donation. He also hoped that the students of the university would be highly benefited and encouraged from this donation.
