‘Prof. Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman Trust Fund Gold Medal’ has been introduced at the University of Dhaka (DU) in presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman at a function today December 26, 2021 at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.

Mrs. Tahmina Khalil, wife of Prof. Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman handed over a cheque for Tk. 12 lac to DU Treasurer Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed to set up this Trust Fund. Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. Mihir Lal Saha, Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Prof. Dr. Yearul Kabir, Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker and donor’s family members were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in MS examination from the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology of DU will be given ‘Prof. Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman Trust Fund Gold Medal’.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the donor for her donation. The brilliant students will be encouraged from this donation, he hoped.

It may be mentioned that retired Professor of DU Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Department Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman is the Founding Director of Neuroscience Research Center of the university.
