A three-day long training workshop on “Sustainable Management of Marine Ecosystem & Acidification Monitoring” has began today, June 13, 2017 at CARS Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU). Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated it as the chief guest. The Department of Oceanography of DU and the Department of Environment,  GOB have jointly organized the event.

Chairman of the Department of Oceanography of DU Prof Dr. Kawser Ahmed delivered welcome speech while Director of the Department of Environment, GOB Md. Alamgir addressed it as the special guest.

       DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the world leaders to come forward with their helping hands and work together to protect the environment. We must protect our environment for existence of human being, he added. He stressed the need for creating awareness among the general people as well as young generation on environmental issues and eco system. He called upon the field level young officers to play key role in this regard.

It may be mentioned that 25 young officers from the Department of Environment, GOB are participating in the workshop.
