Two new Trust Funds established at DU
Two new trust funds titled “Brave Freedom Fighter Md. Noor Uz Zaman Trust Fund” and “Brave Freedom Fighter Amena Zaman Memorial Trust Fund” have been established at Dhaka University (DU). Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present on the occasion as chief guest.
Son of this Freedom Fighter couple Brave Freedom Fighter Ahammad Al Zaman and daughter Prof. Niru Kamrun Nahar handed over two separate cheques for Tk. 20 lac to the Treasurer of DU Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed today December 29, 2022 at the VC’s Lounge of the university to set up these trust funds. Amena Noor Faundation has donated money to establish these trust funds. Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Md. Abdus Samad, Chairperson of the Department of Physics Prof. Dr. Supriya Saha, Chairperson of the Department of Islamic Studies Prof. Dr. Shamsul Alam and Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of these Trust Funds, every year some financially challenged students of the Department of Physics and the Department of Islamic Studies will be given scholarships.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the freedom fighters’ family for this donation in the month of victory. He urged the students to equip themselves with non-communal and humanitarian values and become worthy citizen.
