Prof. Dr. Michael S. Steckler of Columbia University, USA called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal today February 22, 2024 at his residential office of the university. He was accompanied by Mr. Austin Chadwick, a PhD researcher of the same university.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and Columbia University, USA. The possibilities of undertaking more joint collaborative academic and research programs on climate change, environment, ground water and salinity in coastal area were also discussed in the meeting. They stressed the need for exchange of teachers and researchers between these two universities.They have agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked the guest for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
