3 DU students get Prof. Nazma Begum Trust Fund Scholarship
Three meritorious students of the Department of Economics of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Prof. Nazma Begum Trust Fund Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances. The recipients of scholarships are - Chowdhury Amir Abdullah (SM Wazed Scholarship), Sadia Afreen Proma (Momena Begum Scholarship) and Md. Tanjeel Ahmed (Abul Hasnat Mahmud Scholarship). Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function held today, April 18, 2017 at the VC’s lounge of the university.
Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Social Science Prof. Farid Uddin Ahmed, Chairperson of the Department of Economics and donor of the trust fund Prof. Dr. Nazma Begum and Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman were present on this occasion.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique stressed the need for introducing education loan project for financially challenged students at DU. He thanked the donor for her donation. He also urged the other faculty members of the university to come forward with their helping hands by following the example of Prof. Nazma Begum.
