A twelve-member delegation led by Prof. Dr. Xiong Zhi Xue, Executive Director of Coastal and Ocean Management Institute (COMI) of Xiamen University, China called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique yesterday, April 12, 2017 at his residential office of the university.

           Chairman of the Department of Oceanography of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kawser Ahmed and Chinese Director of Confucius Institute of DU Dr. Zhou Mingdong Mindy were present on this occasion.         

            During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs on oceanography between the University of Dhaka and Xiamen University, China. They also exchanged views to increase the number of scholarship for DU students for doing PhD at Xiamen University.
