A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Dhaka (DU) and the Western Sydney University, Australia was signed today, March 27, 2017 at the VC’s office of Dhaka University to promote education and research. Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique and Vice-Chancellor of Western Sydney University Prof. Barney Glover singed the MoU on behalf of their respective university.

        Dean of the Faculty of Social Science of DU Prof. Farid Uddin Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof. Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman of the Department of Oceanography Prof. Dr. Md. Kawser Ahmed, Prof. of the School of Law of Western Sydney University Daud Hassan were present, among others, on this occasion.

According to the MoU, the University of Dhaka and the Western Sydney University, Australia will work together for development of academic and research activities. The two universities will also exchange information, faculty members and students. They will establish a joint research center on ocean governance. Besides, the two universities will organize conferences, seminars, short courses and workshops on ocean and coastal governance.
