Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the teachers of the university to equip themselves with more dedication and morality to upgrade the quality of education. He was addressing the day-long workshop on “Orientation to Self Assessment Program (3rd Phase)” as the chief guest today, March 9, 2017 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university. The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC-DU) organized the program.
Director of IQAC-DU Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shamimul Alam presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman and Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin addressed it as special guests. Additional Director of IQAC Prof. Dr. Mahbub Ahsan Khan delivered welcome address. Additional Director of IQAC Prof. Dr. Md. Rahmat Ullah conducted the program.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique stressed the need for enhancement of the quality of teachers to make skilled graduates at the university. Terming the students as the main assessors of their teachers the VC said, we may introduce “Students Assessment System” at Dhaka University in the days to come. He called upon the teachers to uphold self dignity through their self assessment.
It may be mention that a total of 72 teachers from 24 departments of DU participated in the workshop.
