A eight-member delegation of renowned anthropologists from UK, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Maldives called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today October 23, 2016 at the latter’s office of the university.  Members of the delegation were Iliona Outram Khalili (UK), S G Senalankadhikara, R M S S Sanjeewani, D R P Sandanayake, M A D Samanmali, R M B Madhuwanthi (Sri Lanka), Dr. Nirmal Kumar (Nepal) and Dr. Shahab Shabbir (Maldives).

          Chairman of the Department of Anthropology of DU Hasan A Shafie and Prof. Dr. Zahidul Islam were present on this occasion.

          It may be mentioned that renowned anthropologists from UK, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Maldives are now on a visit to Bangladesh to attend two-day long international conference on “Anthropology, Adaptation and Resilience in Climate Change Regime” organized by the Department of Anthropology of DU at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.
