Two-day ICIEV Conference begins at DU
A two-day 5th International Conference on ‘Informatics, Electronics & Vision (ICIEV)’ began today May 13, 2016 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated it as the chief guest. Center for Natural Science & Engineering Research (CNSER) organized the conference in cooperation with IEEE Computer Society, IEEE PAMI Technical Committee, Institute of Electronics, Information & Communication Engineers (IEICE), Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Institute of Mobile of Japan and Japan Institute of Navigation.
General Chair of the conference and Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of DU Md. Atiqur Rahman Ahad Presided over the inaugural function while General Co-Chair and Professor of the University of Hyogo, Japan Syoji Kabashi and Session Chair Professor Lutfar Rahman addressed it. Professor of the University of Twente, Netherlands Anton Nijholt, Professor of Indian Statistical Institute, India Sankar K Pal and Professor of the same institute Nikhil R Pal delivered key-note speech.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr, AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the Researchers to conduct research on science & technology for upgrading human civilization. He hoped that this conference would promote collaborations among researchers and create partnership among universities and industries.
It may be mentioned that scientists, researchers and experts from different countries including Bangladesh, USA, Canada, Russia, Japan, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and KSA are participating in the conference. A total of 219 papers will be presented at technical sessions of the conference.
