A three-day long workshop on “Manuscript” organized by the Dhaka University Library began today 10 May 2016 at the Library’s Cyber Centre of the university. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.
Acting Librarian Prof. Dr. S M Zabed Ahmed presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman addressed it as special guest. Acting Librarian (Planning and Development) Syeda Farida Parveen delivered welcome speech. Deputy Librarian Syed Ali Akbar gave vote of thanks.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique stressed the need for deciphering of manuscripts to up-grad the human civilization. Terming the manuscripts as the most valuable resources of human civilization he said we have to preserve these manuscripts in proper way.
It may be mentioned that a total of 70 students from 8 departments of Dhaka University are participating in the workshop.
Later, DU Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the digitization work at the library.
