A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Social Welfare and Research of Dhaka University (DU) and Bangladesh National Social Welfare Parishad was signed today May 8, 2016 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin and Executive Secretary of Bangladesh National Social Welfare Parishad Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil signed this MoU on behalf of their respective institution.   

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Director of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research Prof. Dr. Tania Rahman, Prof. Dr. A S M Atiqur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Azam, Prof. Dr. Mahbuba Sultana and Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman were present on this occasion.

According to the MoU, University of Dhaka and Bangladesh National Social Welfare Parishad will jointly conduct research on various social problems and send findings and recommendations to the government to mitigate the social problems. The two institutions will also organize seminars, conferences and workshops in this regard.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked the authorities of Bangladesh National Social Welfare Parishad for signing this MoU with DU. He hoped that teachers, researchers and students of Institute of Social Welfare and Research of DU would get help and cooperation from Bangladesh National Social Welfare Parishad in conducting their researches on the burning issues of the society.
