A two-day long conference on ‘Meet BdREN 2016’ has been concluded today April 19, 2016 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university. The University of Dhaka (DU) and University Grants Commission (UGC) jointly organized the event.
UGC Member Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Presided over the closing session while State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP addressed it as the chief guest. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain and Chairman of BTRC Dr. Shahjahan Mahmood addressed the function as special guests.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP called upon all to work together to make Bangladesh a digital country. He said, we have to be well prepared to build knowledge economy in the country. A total of 15 networking lab have been established at different universities to enhance digital education in the country, he added. He urged the teachers and researchers to utilize these lab facilities properly to upgrade their research quality.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain urged the researchers to come forward with innovative technological skills to solve various problems.
It may be mentioned that educationists, researchers and experts from different countries including Bangladesh, USA, South Korea, Japan, Nepal, Malaysia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka participated in the conference.
