A two-member delegation led by Prof. Sherman Young, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Macquarie University, Australia called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today April 10, 2016 at the latter’s office of the university. Other member of the team was Tanveer Shaheed, Senior Country Manager of Macquarie International. Chairman of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering of DU Prof. Dr. Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu was present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of setting-up a Laboratory at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, a newly established department of Dhaka University.  DU VC sought cooperation from the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Macquarie University to develop Mechatronics Engineering Department. The possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on mechatronics engineering by the University of Dhaka and Macquarie University, Australia were also discussed in the meeting. Besides, they agreed to introduce study tour program between the two universities.

The Vice-Chancellor thanked the guests for their visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
