Dean’s Award of the Faculty of Arts, Dhaka University (DU) has been distributed among 90 meritorious students today, February 11, 2016 at a function held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of the university. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed this award among the recipients as chief guest.

Presided over by Dean of the Arts Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, the function was addressed by renowned educationist Professor Emeritus of DU English Department Dr. A F Serajul Islam Chowdhury as the guest of Honour, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain and Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin addressed it as special guests. Besides, Chairperson of DU Bengali Department Prof. Dr. Begum Akter Kamal and, among recipients, Unmesh Ray and Nusrat Gulzer also addressed the function.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique congratulated 90 meritorious students for winning this Dean’s Award and urged the brilliant students to play the leading role in making the country more prosperous. The students must have humanitarian qualities, moral values, honesty, sincerity and dedication, the VC added.

DU VC Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the awards among the brilliant students at a function held today, (Thursday), 11 February 2016 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.
