A new gold medal titled ‘Rashida Muhiuddin Gold Medal’ has been introduced at the Department of Mass Communication & Journalism of Dhaka University (DU). Rezaul Karim, brother of late Rashida Muhiuddin handed over a cheque for Tk. 8 lac to DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today (Sunday), January 24, 2016 at the VC’s office to introduce the gold medal.

Chairman of the Department of Mass Communication & Journalism Prof. Mofizur Rahman and Acting Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman were present on this occasion.

Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in BSS Honors examination from the Department of Mass Communication & Journalism of DU will be awarded ‘Rashida Muhiuddin Gold Medal.’

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arefin Siddique thanked the donor for introducing this gold medal at Dhaka University and hoped that the students would be highly benefited and encouraged from this donation. The VC also paid his glowing tributes to the memory of late Rashida Muhiuddin. 

It may be mentioned that late Rashida Muhiuddin was the 1st Batch BA Honors student of the Department of Mass Communication & Journalism of DU. She was a renowned media personality in country.
