Mr. Matthias Gelber, a world-renowned green activist called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today December 19, 2015 at the latter’s office of the university. Director of the Institute of Energy of DU Prof. Dr. Saiful Huque, CEO of US Software Ltd. Lutfor Rahman, Managing Director of Pacific Solar & Renewable Energy Ltd. Ibrahim Lodi, Senior Advisor of Catalyzing Clean Energy in Bangladesh Engr. S M Mahmud Hassan and Director of BD Technology Ltd. Engr. Humayun Kabir were present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed regarding the development of education and research on renewable energy at Dhaka University as well as solar energy sector in Bangladesh. They stressed the need for creating awareness among the people in this regard. The renowned green activist expressed his keen interest to work together with DU authorities for promoting solar energy sector in Bangladesh.

Earlier, Mr. Matthias Gelber delivered lecture in a day-long seminar on “Use of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency for Economic Development: Impact on Environment” organized by the Institute of Energy of DU held today December 19, 2015 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.
