The certificate giving ceremony of a five-day long training program on “Bio-safety and Animal Cell Culture Techniques for Advanced Research” was held today December 10, 2015 at the CARS conference room of Dhaka University (DU). Cell and Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Centre for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) of DU organized the function. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain distributed certificates among the participants as the chief guest.
Director of the CARS of DU Prof. Dr. Altaf Hussain presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. Md. Imdadul Hoque addressed it as special guest. Convener of Cell and Tissue Culture Lab Prof. Dr. Rakha Hari Sarkar delivered welcome address. Coordinator of the training program Dr. Sheikh Ariful Hoque conducted the program.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain thanked the organizers for arranging training program on such an important issue. He hoped that this program would play an effective role to enhance the quality of research of the participants. He urged the participants to conduct advanced level research to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
It may be mentioned that 11 researchers from different research institutions and universities including Dhaka University, ICDDRB and BCSIR have been given certificates in the program.
