A two-member team led by Dr. Sergei Donchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Bangla of Saint Petersburg State University, Russia called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique today November 30, 2015 at the latter’s office of the university. Other team member was Veronika Minina, Protocol Officer of Russian Embassy in Dhaka.

Chairperson of the Department of Bangla of DU Professor Dr. Begum Akter Kamal and Assistant Professor of the Institute of  Modern Languages  Rupa  Chakraborty were present on this occasion.

During the meeting they discussed regarding development of academic relationship between Dhaka University and Saint Petersburg State University, Russia. They also discussed the possibilities of introducing students exchange programs among the Department of Bangla and the Institute of Modern Languages of Dhaka University and Saint Petersburg State University, Russia. They agreed to sign a MoU in this regard soon. Besides, the delegation informed the Vice-Chancellor, the Russian Embassy in Dhaka will maintain communication with both the students of the two universities to foster the exchange program,
