First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and Director of the Russian House in Dhaka Ms. Alexandra A. Khlevnoy called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam today June 11, 2026 at the latter’s office of the university. She was accompanied by Mr. Proshanta Kumar Barman, Head of Cultural Program Section and Delwar Hossain, Senior Administrative Officer of the same embassy.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs on language and culture among Dhaka University and different universities in Russia. Exchange of cultural teams between Bangladesh and Russia was also discussed in the meeting. Besides, they discussed the possibilities of introducing 3-month long free course on Russian Language at the Institute of Modern Languages (IML) of Dhaka University in cooperation with Saint-Petersburg State University, Russia. They also stressed the need for expansion of ongoing Russian Language Course at DU IML.
