Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam leaves Dhaka today June 23, 2026 for China on a 5-day official visit to attend ‘Chinese Bridge’ program at Yunnan University.

 During this visit DU VC Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam will deliver lecture at the opening ceremony of the Chinese Bridge Program at Yunnan University. Besides, he will take part in different high level meetings and hold bilateral & multilateral talks with the authorities of Yunnan University for further strengthening on-going joint collaborative academic and research programs between DU and Yunnan University.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University and Yunnan University will be signed for further enhancing the quality of Chinese Language Program at DU. Under this program, students will spend their first two years at Dhaka University, their third year at Yunnan University and return to complete their fourth year and graduate from the University of Dhaka.

He is expected to return home on June 27, 2026. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam in addition to his duties will discharge routine works of the Vice-Chancellor.
