Md. Fakrul Islam is an Executive Engineer (currently on study leave) at the Centre for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS), University of Dhaka (DU). He has been awarded Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, specializing in Mass Spectrometry, from Wuppertal University, Germany, and completed Master of Science in Disaster Management from the Department of Geography and Environment, University of Dhaka. Since June 2014, he has been actively involved in air pollution research at CARS, DU. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience working with a wide range of analytical instruments and air quality monitoring systems through collaborations with universities, pharmaceutical companies, and research institutions. In 2015, he completed a two-month training program at Wuppertal University, Germany, where he specialized in air quality analysis methodologies. Mr. Islam has also served as a member of the Research and Coordination Committee (RCC) of the Air Quality Research and Monitoring Laboratory at CARS. In addition to his academic and research activities, he has undertaken professional and academic visits to Singapore, India, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, further strengthening his international research exposure and collaborations.
