Mr. Bhuiyan is an educator, a development researcher, and a public speaker. Apart from working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka (DU), he holds the experience of working in multi-faceted development sector of Bangladesh for last 9 years. Economic development, political economy, local governance, SDGs, women empowerment, education, e-learning, social protection programmes, and ICT development have been some of the major areas of his research endeavours. Throughout his research career, he has actively participated in research projects for and with national and international organizations including The Asia Foundation, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), UNDP Bangladesh, UNICEF Bangladesh, Cabinet Division of the Government of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI), Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), National Institute of Local Government (NILG) in Bangladesh, Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID), South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM) and Centre on Budget and Policy (CBP) in various capacities.
