To become as the premier research establishment on semiconductor materials and technology and nanotechnology in the University.

To establish facilities to undertake specific research projects on semiconductor devices, fabrication and characterization
To enhance research facilities to synthesize and characterize nanomaterials having semiconducting behavior
To establish research facilities for Nanotechnology
To provide training facilities for the research workers at different levels and arrange advanced courses
To undertake such other learned events like seminar and symposium, work shop, training program would be arranged research collaboration with specific institution/organization or independently would be taken up.
To initiate publication in journals and others.
To teach how to operate sophisticated Equipment and Instrument for research work.
