On February 25, 2025, the Department of Meteorology, University of Dhaka, organized an interactive workshop with key representatives from the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF).The workshop was chaired by Dr. Fatima Akter, Chairperson of the Department of Meteorology. Wing Commander Monjila Rizwan and Flight Lieutenant Farjana Hashim Tisa from the Meteorological Squadron (Met Sqn) at BAF Base Bashar attended as invited speakers. Faculty members, including Dr. Rabiul Awal and Dr. Shammi Akhter, were also present. The officers introduced students to the operational activities of the BAF Meteorological Squadron and highlighted the vital role of weather forecasting in aviation safety. They shared insights into how meteorological expertise contributes to flight operations and national service. Students from the MS 6th Batch and the BS 1st Batch actively participated in the session. Already being familiar with meteorological instruments, they gained a deeper understanding of how they are used in operational forecasting. The officers also shared their experiences and career journeys, inspiring students to explore opportunities where they can contribute to the country. The session concluded with an interactive discussion with an engaging Q&A session where the students demonstrated their keen interest in the topics presented.
