On 21st May 2026, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of University of Dhaka hosted its Cultural Program and Annual Prize Giving Ceremony at the TSC Auditorium. This annual celebration brought together students, faculty members, alumni, and distinguished guests in a vibrant gathering that reflected the department’s creativity, unity, and spirit of collaboration. Through cultural performances, award presentations, and heartfelt moments, the event successfully showcased the lively and inclusive culture of the CSE family.

The event, organized by Batch 30, commenced with an engaging welcome from the hosts, setting a warm and enthusiastic tone for the day. A thoughtfully prepared introductory video presentation by Batch 31 followed, highlighting memorable moments, achievements, and cherished memories from departmental life. The program featured an exciting blend of musical and dance performances, dramatic presentations, and formal award distributions, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the ceremony.
The occasion was further enriched by inspiring speeches from respected faculty members, guests, and alumni, whose words encouraged students to continue striving for excellence both academically and creatively. The event was successfully organized with the support of Bahon Limited as the Title Sponsor and Kazi Group as the Silver Sponsor, whose contributions played an important role in making the program a success.

The cultural segment, arranged by Batch 30, began with the National Anthem. Students from Batches 28 to 31 then took the stage with a variety of performances that demonstrated their artistic talent and enthusiasm. The opening performances immediately captivated the audience and established an energetic atmosphere for the rest of the ceremony.
Music remained one of the major attractions of the event. Students performed a mix of modern, classical, and emotional songs, each presentation reflecting both passion and musical skill.
Standout solo performances included Anirban Roy’s heartfelt rendition and Labonno Das’s melodious performance, both of which deeply resonated with the audience.
The fresher batch also impressed the audience with memorable performances by Tanusree, Mahinul, and Shreya, adding freshness and diversity to the program. Duet performances by Abdullah and Adiba created a harmonious atmosphere, while group medleys from Batch 30 and Batch 31 brought excitement and audience engagement. Particularly notable were the powerful solo performances of “Boba Tunnel” and “Neshar Bojha” by Ninad and Rabbani, which captivated the audience with their intensity and stage presence.
Dance performances infused the event with festive energy. Batch 31 delivered several energetic and vibrant performances that captivated the audience. An engaging group dance was followed by a captivating solo performance by Sukalpo, which earned enthusiastic applause from the audience. A collaborative dance performance by students from Batch 27, Batch 28, and alumni from Batch 26 further elevated the excitement of the event.
One of the most unique attractions was Batch 31’s musical dance mashup combined with storytelling elements. Featuring popular tracks such as “Remix Kawali” and “Kola Beri,” the performance successfully energized the crowd and became one of the most memorable moments of the cultural program.
The Annual Prize Giving segment began after the lunch break with a welcome speech from Student Advisor Md. Fahim Arefin. Distinguished guests including special guest Mr. F. M. Rashed Amin and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Professor Dr. Upama Kabir, delivered inspiring speeches emphasizing academic excellence, creativity, and unity among students. Tasnia Iffat from Batch 27 also delivered a heartfelt graduation speech, reflecting on memories, experiences, and the journey through university life.
Prizes were then distributed among the winners of Fresher’s Week 2025 competitions. The week-long event featured a wide variety of competitions such as Table Tennis, Carrom, Skribbl, Mini Militia, Chess, Dart, Ludo, FIFA, 29 Cards, Meme Contest, Photography Contest, Quiz, TypeRacer, Integration Bee, and several others. These activities highlighted the diverse talents, creativity, and enthusiasm of the students beyond academic achievements.





The Prize Giving Ceremony concluded with speeches from the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, and the Chairman of the CSE Department, Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, who praised the students for their active participation and contribution to departmental culture.
Following the prize distribution, the cultural celebration resumed with renewed excitement and enthusiasm. A cheerful group song performed by Batch 28 energized the audience, after which Batch 31 presented a drama filled with suspense and mystery that kept everyone deeply engaged.
One of the most remarkable highlights of the evening was the newly introduced segment, “Runway Renaissance.” This special showcase brought together students from all batches alongside respected faculty members including Lecturers Palash Roy, Md. Ahasanul Alam, and Shabab Murshed, who confidently walked the stage in sync with lively music. The segment created an unforgettable blend of elegance, creativity, and entertainment.
Batch 30 later dedicated a heartfelt musical medley to the graduating Batch 27, performing nostalgic songs that evoked emotional memories among the seniors and audience alike. The grand finale featured an energetic all-batch dance performance that filled the auditorium with excitement.
The event concluded with a spectacular performance by the “Blue Jeans” Band, whose electrifying musical set captivated the audience and brought the celebration to a memorable close. Their energetic performance served as a fitting finale to an evening filled with joy, creativity, and togetherness.
