About Department of Information Science and Library Management

The Department of Information Science and Library Management is the pioneer of library and information science education and research in Bangladesh which started its journey in 1959.The Department has been acting for the last 60 years by creating a pool of skilled manpower with the objective of collecting, preserving, publicizing and promoting the history and heritage of the nation. The Department offers a four-year B.A. Honours and a one-year M.A. degree, a two-year M. Phil and a three-year Ph.D. programme. It also runs a 16-months M.A. (Evening) programme.
