Conference theme: Global Economic Vulnerability and Business Sustainability

The Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, is going to organize the 6th International Conference on Business and Economics on March 01-02, 2023. The Faculty of Business Studies has been organizing this conference regularly for the last six years. This year, the theme of the conference is – Global Economic Vulnerability and Business Sustainability. The conference aims to bring together academics and professionals to a common forum for developing strategies to meet global business challenges in the years to come. In addition, the conference will create an opportunity to share experiences, exchange new ideas, foster innovation, and establish research relations among the participating individuals and institutions.

The conference’s opening ceremony will be on March 01, 2023, at 10.00 am (Bangladesh Standard Time, GMT +6:00) at Nabab Nawab Ali Choudhury Senate Building, University of Dhaka, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh. His Excellency Mr. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Member of Parliament and Minister, Minister of Industries, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka, has given his kind consent to inaugurate this international conference; Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration), and Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, Hon’ble Treasurer, University of Dhaka will be Special Guests of the ceremony. The keynote speech of the conference will be delivered by Professor Dr. Fred Phillips, University of New Mexico, United States of America (USA).

After the opening ceremony, there will be four parallel paper presentation sessions in the afternoon of March 01 and six sessions in the morning and afternoon the following day, including a Ph.D. Colloquium and a business case presentation session. Forty-two research papers and business cases will be presented at this conference by local and international researchers.  

The closing ceremony of the conference will be held on March 02, 2023, at 7.00 pm at The Westine, Dhaka. H.E. Dr. Dipu Moni, Member of Parliament and Minister, Minister of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, has given her kind consent to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.

H.E. Salman F. Rahman, Member of Parliament,  Private Industry and Investment Advisor to Hon’ble Prime Minister, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, will remain present as Guest of Honour; Professor Dr. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), University of Dhaka; Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and Mr. Mohd Noor Ali, Managing Director and founder of Unique Group will remain present as Special Guests of the closing ceremony.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, and Professor Dr. M. Sadiqul Islam, Department of Finance, University of Dhaka, are the Conference Chair and Co-chair, respectively.
