High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh Ms. Shiuneen Rasheed called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan today May 19, 2025 at the latter’s office of the university. She was accompanied by Ahmed Maishaan, Second Secretary of the High Commission.

During the meeting they exchanged views regarding various issues including the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on international relations, migration and development studies, oceanography and tourism & hospitality among the University of Dhaka and different universities in Maldives including National University. They stressed the need for exchange of students, teachers and researchers among DU and various universities of Maldives. Arranging of international seminar, conference, symposium, workshop and online classes under the joint auspices of Dhaka University and different universities in Maldives were also discussed in the meeting. They agreed to sign a MoU between Dhaka University and National University, Maldives in this regard soon.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan emphasized on strengthening international cooperation to face various regional challenges including environmental ones. He thanked the guest for her visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
