A four-member delegation led by Ms Yutianqi, Deputy Director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of China called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan today August 31, 2025 at his residential office of the university. She was accompanied by Yin Dongmin, Li Minghang and Li Zheqiu, high officials of the same ministry.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests specially the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs on language and culture among Dhaka University and different universities in China. Exchange of cultural teams between Bangladesh and China was also discussed in the meeting. Besides, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint-degree programs, capacity building programs and training programs on artificial intelligence technology among Dhaka University and various Chinese universities.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, the historical relationship between Bangladesh and China has been prevailing for long years. Bangladeshi students go to China every year for pursuing higher study, he pointed out. He sought cooperation from Chinese delegation in increasing number of scholarship for DU students for higher study in China.

Deputy Director of CLEC Ms Yutianqi expressed her willingness to provide training for development of skills of local Chinese language teachers at DU.  She said, an international conference on Chinese language and culture will be held in November next in China. She invited DU VC to attend it.

DU VC thanked the guests for their visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
